20 Chris Morgan / Missouri Meerschaum Reverse Calabash "CornWasp" pipes in one photo

CobfooleryI don't know about you, but one frustration that I have with buying pipes online is that you typically see a single photo of one pipe that is supposed to represent the pipe that you'll ultimately receive.  I understand why this is done, and we do it ourselves at Aristocob.com, but if you're going to spend $48 on a pipe, wouldn't it be nice to see a photo of the actual pipe first?

So with that thought we created the collage at right of all 20 of the Chris Morgan / Missouri Meerschaum Reverse Calabash "CobWasp" pipes that we have for sale.

Unfortunate I didn't have time to take 360deg pics, but I did snap a few more photos of random pipes from different angles that I hope will give you a better idea of what to expect.

Also, like most custom pipes these pipes are intended to be smoked unfiltered, but they feature a stock Missouri Meerschaum "Danish" stem, so they will accommodate a stock Medico filter.

A note from Chris Morgan, creator of the Chris Morgan / Missouri Meerscham "CornWasp" Reverse Clabash pipe

Beginning July 4th 2015 we (Aristocob.com) will be offering for sale the last 20 Chris Morgan designed, Missouri Meerschaum made Reverse Calabash "CornWasp" pipes. Watch the video at the bottom of this post for more details how to get your hands on one of these beauties.  Here's a little background from Chris Morgan himself:

I've been a professional pipemaker since 2006, but before this project, I had never thought about the widespread acceptance of corncob pipes.

Scott Markwood and I started speaking during his 2013 Cobfoolery contest. I was asked to judge the amateur division as well as compete in the Pro contest. I ended up taking second place with my Reverse Calabash "CornWasp". Scott loved the shape so much that he wanted me to make one for him. Out of respect for Missouri Meerschaum, I made one for Phil Morgan as well. Over the next year or so, the three of us spoke about how best to bring this shape to market as the very first collaboration MM has ever done with another maker or company. I am so honored to have worked with Phil and Scott on this project. What you see here is the culmination of 150 years of corncob pipe technology blended with the innovation I strive for in my handmade pipes.

There were 223 pipes made in one production run. The pipes available here are the very last 20 Limited Edition CornWasps available.

The CornWasp was not an easy project to realize. Much labor and planning was required in design as well as manufacture. I really think that the workers at MM couldn't have done a better job on these. I want to thank Missouri Meerschaum, and Scott Markwood for their hard work and friendship over the past few years.
