20 Chris Morgan / Missouri Meerschaum Reverse Calabash "CornWasp" pipes in one photo

CobfooleryI don't know about you, but one frustration that I have with buying pipes online is that you typically see a single photo of one pipe that is supposed to represent the pipe that you'll ultimately receive.  I understand why this is done, and we do it ourselves at Aristocob.com, but if you're going to spend $48 on a pipe, wouldn't it be nice to see a photo of the actual pipe first?

So with that thought we created the collage at right of all 20 of the Chris Morgan / Missouri Meerschaum Reverse Calabash "CobWasp" pipes that we have for sale.

Unfortunate I didn't have time to take 360deg pics, but I did snap a few more photos of random pipes from different angles that I hope will give you a better idea of what to expect.

Also, like most custom pipes these pipes are intended to be smoked unfiltered, but they feature a stock Missouri Meerschaum "Danish" stem, so they will accommodate a stock Medico filter.

  2. I didn't realize how big the bore is. If it has a hardwood plug in the bottom then why are people using pipe mud on them? Anyway, hope I have better luck in tomorrow's drawing!!

    1. The issue some have is the fact that the tube that the smoke exits the chamber through to get to the calabash chamber sits a bit high off the floor of the chamber for some people's taste. (Including mine) It sort of has to be that way but if you clean the dottle from the chamber each time you smoke it you'll waste a bit of tobacco. The answer is to either let the dottle build-up and for a natural pipe mud or apply some sort of pipe mud. Either way, if you use the Aristocob Mircle Mud make sure only to use it on the bottom of the chamber and not up the walls. It will seal the walls and rob you of one of the best featured of a cob. Also, there's a video on Youtube by LowPriceEdition showing him muddying his CobWasp, and he also started a thread on the subject on Reddit. http://youtu.be/ZgnIkUuYx_A
